Leslie Robinson: Inventor, Founder & CEO
For six years, Leslie created and implemented long-term intensive arts and after-school programs in inner city schools for at-risk and hard to reach youth, developed and led staff development trainings in creativity, designed and conducted many poetry, creative writing, and arts residencies in inner-city schools, and for two years pioneered a poetry project at Rikers Island Correctional Facilities for Men and Women. She has also supervised residential facilities for homeless young adults, worked in homeless shelters, and worked in an emergency shelter for runaway youth. Leslie graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Masters Degree in Creative Writing and taught literature and writing at The College of New Rochelle. Her poetry spoken word has been published, and has aired on numerous radio stations. House of Roses,Leslie’s first screenplay, deals with child abuse, mental illness and domestic violence. She is also producing and directing a dramatic feature based on the foster care system titled Candles in the Dark. Leslie is a practicing psychotherapist in New York City, and has been a consultant for the foster care system for twelve years.
